Day 3: Departure or Island Extension
Morning: Depending on your departure time, you could visit the Freddie Mercury House, a tribute to the famous singer who was born in Zanzibar. Alternatively, browse the local shops for souvenirs, spices, or Zanzibari crafts.
Transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) for your departure.
Optional Extension:
Extend your stay with a few days on one of Zanzibar's beautiful beaches. This would provide a relaxing contrast to the cultural immersion of Stone Town. Nungwi, Paje, and Matemwe are popular options.
Note: Stone Town is best explored on foot. Wear comfortable shoes as you'll be doing a lot of walking. Bargaining is common practice in the markets and shops, but always do so respectfully. Be mindful of local customs and dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites. Stay hydrated and use sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun. Respect the local culture and environment.
