Combined with breathtaking views of the Great Rift Valley, abundant wildlife, and tranquil natural beauty, Lake Manyara National Park offers an unforgettable safari experience and serves as a perfect gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit.
Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s most scenic and ecologically diverse safari destinations, offering an incredible variety of landscapes and wildlife within a relatively compact area. Located in northern Tanzania at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park covers approximately 330 square kilometers and features lush groundwater forests, open grasslands, acacia woodlands, hot springs, marshes, and the alkaline waters of Lake Manyara, which occupies nearly two-thirds of the park during the wet season. Despite its smaller size compared to other parks on Tanzania’s northern safari circuit, Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its exceptional biodiversity and unforgettable wildlife experiences. The park is famously known for its rare tree-climbing lions, a unique behavior observed in only a few places in Africa. Visitors can also encounter large elephant herds, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, hippos, baboons, blue monkeys, impalas, and numerous other wildlife species, all thriving within the park’s diverse habitats
