Ngorongoro Conservation Area is one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife destinations, renowned for its spectacular landscapes, remarkable biodiversity, and rich cultural heritage. Located in northern Tanzania, the conservation area covers approximately 8,292 square kilometers and is home to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera on Earth. Formed nearly three million years ago after the collapse of a massive volcano, the crater has become a natural sanctuary supporting one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. Unlike traditional national parks, Ngorongoro Conservation Area is a unique multiple land-use area where wildlife and the Maasai people coexist in harmony. The crater floor is home to more than 25,000 large animals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, cheetahs, spotted hyenas, hippos, wildebeests, zebras, and the endangered black rhino.
